When in doubt, shop it out! A few items I picked up…
I generally don’t do drugstore foundations because I always find them on the super sheer side, even when they’re advertised as medium to full coverage. Nicole Guerriero has used this in her videos though, and always looks flawless so I thought I’d give it a try. This shade is a little light for me, but once I slap on some bronzer and blush I think it’ll be fine. I do like that is an SPF included in it.
These things have been all the rage for a while, but I usually stick to whatever palette I’m in love with at the moment rather than running out to buy even more shadows than I need. But, since I’m going on vacation (Coachella, what what!) next week and was looking to minimize my beauty routine, now seemed a better time than ever to pick some up. I went with some natural, bronzey colors because I’ll be in the desert sun so I wanted a sun-kissed look. They’re not as whipped and soft as they first appear, but they definitely have staying power. I washed my arm after swatching and these things didn’t even budge. I had to get out my jojoba oil to get them off! I’ll have to report back on whether these truly last 24 hours as advertised, but even if they don’t I can tell they’d make for some killer eye primers.
Revlon Brow Fantasy (Shade: Dark Brown)
I LOVE my Anastasia Brows & Eyes Beauty Express palette but shadow isn’t always enough when doing my brows. I don’t struggle so much with the color, as I do getting a clean, sharp look to my brows because I have hairy beast brows that I’m always taming into submission with scissors and tweezers. This was probably the one item I really bought on impulse, because it was the only brow product I saw that came with two mediums in one (brow gel & pencil), and it was on sale. I’ve only used it once thus far and I’m not super impressed. The pencil is hard, which is typical of inexpensive brow pencils, and the gel is so-so. Nothing to hate, but nothing to rave about thus far.
Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain (Shade: 001 Honey Douce)
I am a total sucker for anything with the word “balm” in it. Plus this was that perfect rosey shade of pink that I always gravitate to. I think this will be my favorite product I bought. It feels like a really light balm, but doesn’t leave a waxy film after being worn for a while (or after a few hours, which is the amount of time it’s been on my lips thus far). Plus it twists up AND down which is a plus since some lip/eye pencils won’t do that.
I’m sure I’ll have some Coachella shopping to share before and after I leave. Until then…
